Once a residential and social space for military officers, today the multifunctional center has become an important cultural hub, fostering community engagement and heritage appreciation.
Architecture: versatile and sustainable
Architecturally, the building represents traditional Albanian masonry techniques, integrating stone and brickwork with monolithic concrete elements. Its transformation into a cultural multifunctional center demonstrates versatility and sustainability.
Different uses throughout time
Originally the building served as the “Officers’ Residence”, providing residential and social spaces for military officers. In 1975, structural modifications were made to enhance its functionality as an officers’ residence. Over time, the site underwent adaptive reuse, becoming a multifunctional center. Today, it houses museums, exhibition halls and community service areas, reflecting its evolution into an important cultural hub. It thus serves as a major venue for cultural events, including exhibitions, conferences and educational programs, fostering community engagement and promoting heritage appreciation.
