Former Dopolavoro building

The former Dopolavoro building, inaugurated in early 1936, is an outstanding example of Rationalist architecture. The building is characterised by a symmetry that marks the entrance to the village. The tripartition of the façade is articulated in a dynamic play of slender pillars that cage the voids of the two symmetrical loggias. Symbols of the Fascist regime and the name of the Montecatini company were inserted above the main door. The façade of this symbolic building was the backdrop for official ceremonies and events. In addition, workers' free-time activities were organized in this building led by the Montecatini Society.
