On 10 September 2021 at 10 AM, the international conference "the Carbonia Landscape International Expo" will be held in Carbonia (Aula Consiliare, Piazza Roma). Moreover, in the Torre Civica (Piazza Roma), drawings of the tower will be exhibited: "Carbonia Svelata. I Dipinti della Torre Littoria".

The Carbonia Landscape International Expo aims at promoting the experimentation of new models and techniques regarding the environment, the landscape and sustainable energy. This project is perfectly in line with Carbonia's history as a planned town producing energy in the 20th century, as well as with recent events, such as the 10th anniversary of the conferment of the Landscape Award of the Council of Europe and Carbonias application as Italian capital of culture 2022.
A major exhibition shows the abandoned industrial and mining complex, the numerous and differentiated techniques of environmental restoration, the application of new techniques for the energy production - within a context where the landscape is the crucial element of a sustainable transformation.
The Carbonia Landscape International Expo promotes the training in this sector, by means of a Master in Architettura del Paesaggio offered by the University of Cagliare and the UPC of Barcelona, the Barcelona International Biennial of Landscape Architecture as well as other Italian and European university and research institutions.
