14th Advisory Forum of the CoE Cultural Routes

24-26 October 2025 (Cappadocia, Turkey)

On 24-26 October 2025, Claudia Castellucci (Director of the ATRIUM Cultural Route) and Cristina Vallicelli (ATRIUM Development Officer) take part at the 14th Annual Advisory Forum of the CoE Cultural Routes in Cappadocia (Turkey). The topic of this year's forum is "Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and Landscapes: Advancing Heritage Protection through Cultural and Sustainable Tourism".

ATRIUM participates at the Contested Histories Symposium

2-3 October 2025 (Siena, Italy)

On 2–3 October 2025, the Contested Histories Symposium was held at the University of Siena. The event was co-organised by the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, IHJR–EuroClio and the University of Siena.

Patrick Leech, Professor at the University of Bologna and member of the ATRIUM Scientific Committee, participated in the session ‘How to Manage Dissonant Heritage in the Public Space’ with a speech entitled ‘Working with the legacy of totalitarianism in Europe's urban environment.’

EUrban DECO: Fifth Transnational Event

16-18 September 2025 (Benetússer, Spain)

From 16-18 September 2025, the fifth transnational event of the EUrban DECO projects takes place in Benetusser (Spain), entitled “Exploring colonialism to reflect on multiculturalism across Spain-Northern Africa relations”. Consortium Meeting: Critical History Tours

15-17 September 2025 (The Hague, Netherlands)

On 15-17 September 2025, the Consortium Meeting of the project Critical History Tours took place in The Hague (NL). View the meeting programme.

The project seeks to developing critical history walking tours as a medium for engagement with contested histories, equipping guides and educators with the tools to navigate sensitive topics in an inclusive and critical way.

EUrban DECO: Fourth Transnational Event

24-26 June 2025 (Përmet, Albania)

From 24-26 June 2025, the fourth transnational event of the EUrban DECO project takes place in Përmet (Albania), a new member of the Atrium Association. The event is entitled "The influence of colonialism on local societies, migrations, international relations and EU Cohesion". 

Përmet plays a vital role in preserving cultural heritage and promoting civic participation through education, inclusion, and international cooperation. As the hosting partner, the municipality is at the forefront of exploring how Italian colonial legacies have shaped local identity, memory, and migration. Over three days of keynotes, performances, and cultural visits, Përmet is creating space to examine the past and open conversations about justice, cohesion, and belonging in today’s Europe.

Next Routes project: presentation at the Training Academy

11-13 June 2025 (Portugal)

The Next Routes project was presented at the 12th Council of Europe Cultural Routes Training Academy, hosted by Destination Napoleon and Iter Vitis, with the support of the Rota Histórica das Linhas de Torres. The event took place in Portugal (Torres Vedras, Arruda dos Vinhos, Vila Franca de Xira) from 11-13 June 2025.

An invitation was extended to all itineraries to attend the final event in Forlì, to share results and chart future paths. Thanks to Deputy Director Sara Ferrari of the Phoenician’s Route for the presentation on behalf of all partners.

EUrban DECO: Third Transnational Event

26-28 May 2025 (The Hague, The Netherlands)

The third transnational event of the EUrban DECO project took place on 26-28 May in The Hague. The event focused on the theme "Deconstructing colonial-related gender stereotypes in Dutch history to improve migrant women’s condition". The aim is to explore the link between racial and sexist stereotypes of colonial origin and today's migration issues. Check out the program and some of our flyers (flyer 1, flyer 2)
